Characteristics of Pulmonary Nodules in Current Smoker

Lung cancer is the leading cause of death from and most effective way to reduce lung mortality early detection treatment. The low-dose computed tomography (CT) can chances death, used as screening test in several countries. Pulmonary nodules are a common finding smokers, differential diagnosis particularly important smokers. We tried find out characteristics patients who underwent smoker screening. Data on CT findings smoking counseling were collected for smokers conducted January 2012 June 2022. Out total 1,320 patients, 1,101 had nodules. located right upper lobe at 30.5%, middle least 11.5%. Solid 97.3%, ground-lass shadowing lesion was 2.4%. average nodule size 3.33 mm, largest 43 mm. Compared previous test, 8.8% changed, 1.8% suspected cancer. number cessation interviewed 138 (10.5%), 98 referred clinics. This study shows that reporting rate higher than overseas rate.
